The Pipescope 60-170 drill pipe diagnostic system exercises electromagnetic express control (EMI) to detect transverse flaws of the drill pipe walls, flaws related to the changes in the pipe wall thickness (internal and external general corrosion) and through flaws. The system meets the DS1 specifications. It is portable and is designed for high-speed inspection of drill pipes in the field.
The Pipescope 60-170 diagnostic system is placed on the end of the drill pipe. Then the mechanical buggy that is a part of the system moves it along the inspected pipe. At the same time a magnetogram by two measuring channels (thickness measurement channel and flaw search channel) is displayed on the monitor in real time. When the inspection is completed, the program issues an opinion on the presence or absence of flaws and automatically generates a report on the inspection of the pipe.
• Ability to operate in the temperature range from -40 to + 40 degrees Celsius;
• Buttons for start and end of inspection are placed directly on the mechanical buggy that allows one operator to work with the system;
• The module of processing of the digital signals from the sensors is located directly on the mechanical buggy that increases signal-to-noise ratio (there are no noise caused by long wires).
